New to the Cable Park? Here’s what to know before you arrive and while you’re riding at Shark Wake Park 561.
The Cable Park lets you kneeboard, wakeboard, and try other towed watersports without a boat. An overhead cable pulls riders around the lake. Beginners and experienced riders are welcome.
No. Tell the Cable Park staff if it’s your first time. They’ll explain where to start, help you choose equipment, and give you tips before your first turn. If you’d like individual instruction, explore our lessons.
We recommend that most first-time riders start on a kneeboard. It’s often easier to learn and lets you get comfortable with the cable and course. Once you can complete a lap and feel ready for another challenge, ask our staff about trying a wakeboard.
Riders must be able to swim. Standard Cable Park passes are for participants 10 years and older. A first-time rider under 10 must complete a Cable Safety Lesson before riding with others. Please contact the park to arrange the lesson before purchasing a pass.
No. Rental equipment is included with Cable Park passes, including a helmet, life jacket, and a kneeboard or wakeboard. Let our team know if you need help selecting or fitting your equipment.
Yes. Every rider needs a completed Shark Wake Park waiver. A parent or legal guardian must complete it for a rider under 18. Complete your waiver online before you arrive to make check-in faster.
After checking in and getting your equipment, join the queue at the starting dock. A Cable Park operator will direct you to the appropriate starting position and explain how to take the handle. Wait for the operator’s signal before starting.
The cable pulls riders around the course. Follow the marked route, watch for other riders, and follow the operator’s instructions. When your turn ends, exit at the designated area and return to the starting dock if you’d like to ride again.
Usually. The Cable Park is a rotating activity: riders take turns starting from the dock, and several riders may be on the course at once. Wait times vary with attendance and how long each rider remains on the cable. Operators may limit the number of laps per turn when others are waiting.
Buoys mark the riding route and designated exit area. Cable Park staff will explain the route during your briefing. If you miss a marked turn or are unsure whether you can make it safely, release the handle and follow the exit instructions given by staff.
Release the handle, check for nearby riders, and follow staff directions to the nearest designated exit. Avoid stopping in the starting area when possible, as that can delay the riders behind you.
Let go of the handle immediately. Look for other riders, keep your board with you, and move out of the riding path. Follow the route to the nearest safe shoreline or floating exit dock as explained in your safety briefing. Do not swim across the lake.
If you need assistance, signal to staff. After exiting the water, you may return to the starting dock for another turn.
Release the handle if you cannot safely avoid them, or if you’re unsure. Keep clear of the riding path and follow the operator’s directions. Never try to hold on through a potential collision.
Ramps and rails are optional features designed for experienced riders. First, become comfortable starting, completing laps, navigating turns, and exiting the course. Ask Cable Park staff about feature rules and suitable equipment before attempting one
The Cable Park is a rotating activity and does not use fixed session start times like Obstacle Island or the Ropes Course. Check in during operating hours and follow the expiration time on your activity wristband.
We offer two-hour and all-day Cable Park passes. Your pass gives you access to the Cable Park during its allotted time; the number of turns you complete depends on conditions and the number of riders. See the pricing page for current tickets and add-on options.
Because riders rotate through the starting dock, the number of turns you can take varies. A two-hour pass gives beginners more time to get comfortable, wait between attempts, and try again.
An additional hour may be available, or you may be able to upgrade to an all-day pass.
All Cable Park activity ends at the posted closing time. A two-hour pass purchased less than two hours before closing will have less than two hours of available riding time. Check today’s Cable Park hours before purchasing; unused time at closing is not refunded or credited.
You’re welcome to stop at any time. We do not offer refunds, credits, or transfers for unused pass time.
We generally remain open during rain and do not close based on the forecast alone. Severe weather or other conditions may delay activity or require a closure. Check today’s hours and contact the park if you have a question about your visit.
If the lightning alert sounds, release the handle if you are riding, exit the water promptly, and follow staff directions to seek shelter. Riding resumes only when staff announce that it is safe to do so.
We do not offer refunds for weather forecasts, delays, or closures. If weather interrupts your activity, speak with the office team during your visit so they can review any available options based on the interruption.
Activity ticket sales are final, and tickets and wristbands are not transferable. We do not provide refunds or credits for unused riding time, late arrival, or deciding to leave early.
